Friction & Fire

Rihansha P.O.V

I gave him a lip-tight smile. My subconscious whispered, that’s not real, that’s a fake smile. Yeah, whatever.

“No… I just wanted to ask, are you a famous lawyer?”

“What do you think?”

“I think you’re nothing but a patents lawyer,” I shot back, my anger rising.

“ you know, you actually look like a vegetable seller,” I said, raising one eyebrow, clearly enjoying annoying him.

“Agar tumhara bakwaas abhi band  hua ho  , toh main ja rahi hoon! I have much better things to do than waste my time on you. So bye, and please take care. Aur dobara mere dost ko  pareshan karne mat aana.”

“Wait,” he called out. “Now what do you want, Mr. Gupta? Just give me your visiting card or your contact number. I have some work for you.”

I rolled my eyes. “Yeh baat aap pehle keh dete toh mera time waste hi nahi hota. Anyway, this is my visiting card. Please make sure to book an appointment.”

With that, I walked out. But before leaving completely, I made sure to inform Hridi.

After a week

It’s been two weeks since that day… and yet, that man hasn’t left my mind. Ughh… what is wrong with me? I’m going crazy. Finally, I picked up my phone and called Hridhi. She’s the only one who can help me.

Hridiya P.O.V

The hospital was buzzing with its usual chaos — footsteps echoing in the corridor, the beeping of monitors, nurses rushing with files in hand, patients’ families whispering in worry. It was the kind of sound I had grown used to, a background rhythm of my life.

I was reviewing a patient’s file in my cabin, trying to block out the noise, when suddenly there was a knock at the door.

I was examining my patient’s file in my cabin when there was a knock on the door.

“Come in.”

“Oh, hello. Please, have a seat.” mr.gupta

“Sab theek hai?”

'Yes, everything is ok'.

"The wound has healed.” I said after examining the wound

Ring… Ring…

“Ha Riha, get ready by 8 p.m. We’re going to the club.”

“Riha, so suddenly? And besides, Mishu is still ill. That’s why we can’t go today. Maybe next time, not now.”

“Okay. If you need anything, just call me.”

“Ha, theek hai.

Accha listen come for dinner tonight and  piya ko lekar aana hai ok ."

“Is that Ms. Lawyer?”

“Yes. Actually, she wanted to go to the club, but I couldn’t go.”

“Well, who is Mihu?”

“Oh, she is my younger sister.”

“Ah, well, Mr. Gupta, I would be happy if you could join us for dinner tonight. With your sister pransha is nimiksha and piya is  also missing her. So please, come with your family.”

Uh, sorry to ask u again nimishka and mishika both are the younger sister, right?

"Yes".

'Ok we'll be there at 8pm'

"Sure "
